October 25 World Ecological Marking Day!

October 25 is the first World Ecological Marking Day! This Day was proclaimed by the United Nations with the goal of drawing attention to this powerful tool for sustainable consumption, consumption with care for the environment, health and the future. Type 1 environmental labeling programs (in accordance with ISO 14024) at the national level and such that unite regions (for example, EU and Scandinavian programs) provide an opportunity to evaluate the environmental benefits of products at all stages of the life cycle. The signs of such programs are different, but the methods of their application are the same and correspond to the international standard ISO 14024.

Environmental standards that are developed separately for each category of goods and services take into account a number of criteria, such as energy efficiency, conservation of resources, reduction of environmental impacts and waste, prevention of climate change, chemical safety. Requirements are established both for production and for the product itself. That is why this labeling is reliable and beneficial to the consumer. The right to be marked with this mark may be granted solely with respect to certified products under the scheme in accordance with ISO 14024.
