October 14 – World Standard of Days

Every year, October 14, World Standards Day is celebrated worldwide, or the World Standards Day, an international date designed to draw people’s attention to the importance of action on the establishment of common standards, and to note the contributions of tens of thousands of professionals devoted to their lives and professional mastery of responsible and necessary work.

This date, October 14, was not chosen by chance. It was on October 14, 1946, that the conference of national standardization organizations was opened in London, where it was decided to establish an International Organization for Standardization. And since 1970, on the initiative of the largest international standards developers, namely the ISO, the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), together with the members and partners of the “Day of Standards”, began to be celebrated throughout the world.
