Every year on May 22, humanity celebrates the Mid-Day Day for the Conservation of Biological Diversity, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 2000 at its 55th session.

The main task of International Biodiversity Day is to draw public attention to the problem of the irreversible extinction on earth of many representatives of flora and fauna.
