June 9 – International Accreditation Day

June 9 - International Accreditation DayInternational Accreditation Day is annually celebrated on June 9th. The holiday was officially established in 2008 in accordance with the initiative of the International Forum on Accreditation and International Cooperation on Laboratory Accreditation.

The main purpose of the holiday is to attract public attention to the problems of accreditation. The main activity of the International Forum on Accreditation and International Cooperation on Laboratory Accreditation is the accreditation of testing laboratories and certification bodies. At the end of the 70s of the 20th century, accreditation bodies signed an Agreement with the aim of creating the basis for maintaining international trade relations by reducing technical barriers.

Currently, the accreditation process is not only for goods and services, as well as trading companies, but also for media representatives when they are sent to work in another country.
