February 23, 1947 officially began its activities International Organization for Standardization – ISO. Since then, ISO has published over 23,000 standards covering almost all aspects of technology, production organization, materials science, control systems and the like.
Now ISO members are representatives of 164 countries. The structure of the organization has 781 technical bodies involved in the development of standards. 160 specialists work in the ISO Central Secretariat (Geneva, Switzerland).
